Justice Antonin “Nino” Scalia was born in New Jersey but moved to Queens, New York when he was 5. Justice Scalia, an only child, was born to Roman Catholic parents. Justice Scalia went to Public School 13 before transferring and graduating as class valedictorian from an all-boys high-school in Manhattan. He played the French horn in the school band, and acted in a play. Justice Scalia became a Supreme Court Justice on September 26th, 1986. He was the first Italian-American to be appointed to the Supreme Court.
